Penryn Guest House is a detached property dating from the early 20th century, which has been converted over the years to a 10 bedroomed guest house extending over three floors. Access to the first and second floors is by a staircase (thirteen stairs to the first floor and fourteen stairs from the first to the second floor) fitted with a handrail. We have 4 ground floor rooms - 1 twin, 1 double and 2 family rooms which can be used as twin or doubles. All our rooms are en-suite.
At the front of the property is a tarmac car park with a very slight slope to the front door. From the porch to the hallway is a door cill, approximately one and a half inches high.
Penryn can accommodate wheelchairs as far as the ground floor hall and dining room, access to the ground floor twin bedded room (Room 1) is only possible as far as the doorway.
All bedrooms are fitted with en-suite shower rooms containing w.c basin and shower cubicles. The shower cubicles all have a step of about 4 inches from the floor into the cubicle.
The ground floor twin bedded room (Room 1) has hand rails fitted in the bathroom and shower cubicle.
We have a family room (Room 8) which is accessed from the rear car park. There is a five-inch step from the car park to a paved area in front of the door and a five-inch step from there into the room. Regrettably the doorway is not wide enough to accommodate a wheelchair.
The owners will afford every assistance to disabled guests where necessary, this includes help at breakfast and with evacuation procedures in cases of emergency for those who have difficulty in moving, seeing or hearing.
If any guest would a ground floor room inside the main building or Room 8 (the detached room at the back of the property accessible from the car park with a small patio in front), then a specific request must be made at the time of the booking or by contacting us directly.
