Terms and Conditions

The following terms should be read & understood as by making a booking with us, you are agreeing to be bound by these terms and conditions.

Booking Fees

In order to secure a room booking at "Penryn Guest House", we reserve the right to charge a non-refundable booking fee equivalent to the first night’s stay per room to confirm bookings.  

To reserve a room and for security purposes we require valid Credit/Debit card details (type, number, expiry date, issue number, a valid from date and the three digit security code shown on the signature strip on the reverse side of the card, the name as it appears on the card and the full postal address of the card holder.  

Once the relevant booking fees have been paid, the reservation will be confirmed in an email to you. Please note: We reserve the right to re-let rooms where a booking fee has not been received.  

Where a deposit is paid or any other amount that is less than the total value of your stay at Penryn Guest House, the balance will be paid by the guest directly to us on check-in or check-out or at an earlier date if so requested by direct communication between Penryn Guest House and you.  

Rates

Rates are per room, per night, per no of guests.  

Should the guest change the number of guests, dates or room nights, then the rates are subject to change. Should you book a room that is specifically for a certain configuration (e.g. a double room is booked for single occupancy 1 person but 2 persons show up for this booking) and you do not conform exactly to the specification, Penryn Guest House will not be liable to you for fulfillment of your booking and a refund will not be made.  

Cancellation Policy

We respectfully remind guests that a reservation constitutes a contract between themselves and Penryn Guest House. In the event of a cancellation with seven days’ notice or less, prior to the date of arrival, cancellations, alterations or reduction of numbers by the client, the guest house will undertake to mitigate its losses and to re-let the room at similar rates. The guest will be responsible for the loss incurred by the guest house in the event that rooms remain unoccupied, or are at a lower rate the date the room was booked. The cancellation charges imposed by the guest house will therefore reflect the actual loss. Any postponement of confirmed bookings will be treated as cancellation. We reserve the right to amend our tariff without notice.  

Curtailment

Guests wishing to leave before the booked end date of their stay do so entirely at their own discretion. In such cases the cost of the booking will stand and no negotiation will be entered into regarding refunds.  

Non-Arrival

Guests who fail to arrive for a booking, and who haven't called to cancel as per the cancellations policy above will be required to pay the whole cost of the stay, less any booking fee already paid. Holiday insurance cover is highly recommended.  

Arrival & Departure

Check-in is from 13:30 last check in is 22:00, if you feel your arrival will be outside these hours, please telephone first in order to arrange a mutually suitable time to check in. For arrivals before Mid-day, we are able to offer to store luggage, this will be at the owners’ risk.  

Penryn Guest House is a family run business, we employ no staff and therefore cover reception only for the times specified above. If you call to advise of an early or late arrival we will endeavour to work with you to find a mutually convenient time for you to check in.  

Failure to advise of early or late arrival, or changes to previously advised check-in times may result in you finding no one available to let you into the house and thereby cause delays in your check-in.  

Therefore we highly recommend you call 01789 293 718 to advise of any changes to your arrival time to ensure you avoid any delays in check-in.  

Departure

We will require you to vacate your room on the day of departure by 10:30 am please. You may leave your luggage with us by prior agreement,at your own risk.  

Settlement of Accounts

Please settle your account on arrival, by credit/debit card, or by cash. We do not accept cheques as a method of balance settlement.  

Car Parking 

Penryn Guest House, its owners, staff or agents accept no liability for your vehicle throughout your stay. Your car is parked at your own risk.  

Valuables

Please do not leave valuables unattended anywhere within The Guest house, we have no facilities for securing such items and you remain responsible for them at all times.  

Conduct

We reserve the right to ask you to leave if your conduct or behaviour is unacceptable or disturbs other guests and you will be liable for the full cost of your stay.  

Pets 

Assistance dogs are always welcome; however we are unable to accept pets in the main house. We do accept pets in the detached room at the back of the property and there is a £7.00 pet charge payable on top of the room rate.  

Smoking

Smoking is not permitted anywhere in the Guest House, including out of the windows.  

Penryn Guest House reserves the right to change tariffs, terms and conditions, room specifications and/or breakfast menu without prior notice.  

Guests’ responsibility

You are responsible for any damage or loss caused to the accommodation business, including any damage to the property by your act, omission, default or neglect and you agree to pay us on demand the amount reasonably required to make good or remedy any such damage or loss.
